If you avoid making garments with zips because you're just a little bit scared of them, or you just can't get them to work for you, or even if you just want a refresher and a few professional tips, then this is the workshop for you.
What you will learn
Sew a concealed zip and neaten it off with a facing.
How to insert a zipped fly quickly and professionally.
If time we will also cover inserting a lapped zip
You'll be working on sample sized pieces but all the notes and handouts will be yours to take home and use to help you improve your sewing technique.
What's included
Tuition: full instruction and support in a small class
Use of our Pfaff machines in Stitching Kitchen's fully equipped studio.
All materials [fabric, zips, thread] and handouts are provided.
Tea and cake.
What to bring
Just bring yourself! All materials will be provided.
Please note that this workshop is held in our light and spacious first floor studio at Stitching Kitchen, which is accessible by stairs.
About your tutor
Emma studied Textiles at university and worked in child wear design. She has a teaching and training qualification and teaches at various sewing studios across the UK and is often found helping independent pattern designers at the big sewing shows on their stands.
