Come and learn a series of hand embroidery stitches while surrounding yourself in the creative inspiration which is Stitching Kitchen. Hannah has been doing hand embroidery since childhood and loves to share her skills. During this 3 hour workshop we will cover the fundamentals of hand embroidery and get you started with this versatile craft.
Choices of fabric, to hoop or not to hoop
How to create stitches - we will cover running stitch, back stitch, stem stitch, chain stitch, satin stitch, fly and feather stitch
We may also have time to look at a range of other stitches including blanket stitch, french knots, couching
Tuition: full instruction and support in a small group
Use of our embroidery tools in Stitching Kitchen's fully equipped studio.
All materials and needles to use on the day are included
Tea and cake.
Just bring yourself! You will use our embroidery supplies in Stitching KItchen's fully equipped studio and all materials will be provided.
A useful starter kit is available to buy if you enjoy the process.
Hannah is a lifelong crafter who has been practicing hand embroidery since childhood. She is a member of the Embroiderers Guild and regularly exhibits with the Guild at National stitch events such as the Knit and Stitch show. She has found hand embroidery a key part of supporting her mental health and hopes that in sharing this craft she can support others in this mindful practice.
