What a treat, a rare opportunity for a full weekend of sewing at Stitching Kitchen! Join Hannah for a weekend sewing retreat where you will learn, build confidence and create a garment from the following choices. These next steps garments take a little longer as they all involve more processes.

We have shortlisted three of our favourite Tilly and the Buttons Patterns - which will you make?

Sonny - a versitle jacket with different collar optoins and lenthgts

Erin - easy fit dunagarees with princess seams and various length optoins

Thea - a wide leg trouser with various pocket options

What you will learn/achieve

Taking accurate measurements, choosing suitable size and style

Making pattern adjustments, cutting fabrics, applying interfacing

Help with your chosen garment constructions - pockets, collars, facings etc

Depednig on your chosen garment and style choices you may even complete the garment during the retreat.

While this is our planned structure, we can adapt to suit each student. Some sewing at home may be required.

What's included

Full tuition in a small group setting

Use of the facilities and sewing and pattern cutting equipment

Use of the studio sewing machines and overlockers - we are main dealers for PFAFF and Janome and have plenty of models to choose from.

A printed copy of a Tilly and the Buttons sewing pattern RRP £18.50

Tea, coffee, and homemade cake

What to bring

Fabric and notions - your requirements will depend on the pattern you make so we will provide details on booking

20% off all fabrics and notions you need for your garment between booking and any purchases made on the day of the workshop

Lunch for each day.

Please note that this workshop is held in our light and spacious first floor studio at Stitching Kitchen, which is accessible by stairs.

About your tutor

Hannah is an experienced textile artist passionate about fabric, thread, and sewing. She brings a wealth of knowledge in dressmaking and creative sewing techniques.
