Description

Learn the absolute basics of knitting and make a washcloth as your first project. Emma will guide you through the fundamentals and build your skills so you will be confident to pick up a knitting pattern and make a start.

In this two and a half hour session you will learn to cast on, knit, purl, cast off and read a knitting pattern. Emma is an excellent tutor who is a life long knitter and crocheter, she is passionate about sharing her skills and has infinite patience. 

All equipment and yarn is included in the course and you will have the pattern and needles to practice at home. You will also receive a cuppa and cake along with a warm welcome and a supportive and inclusive learning environment. 


What you will learn/achieve
  • Cast on, knit, purl and cast off

  • How to read a pattern

  • Skills to start knitting on your own

  • You will acheive a washcloth that you can take home and use


What's included

Tuition: full instruction and support in a small class (maximum of 6).

Use of our equipment in Stitching Kitchen's fully equipped studio.

All materials and patterns are provided.

Tea and cake.


What to bring

Just bring yourself! All materials will be provided.

Please note that this workshop is held in our light and spacious first floor studio at Stitching Kitchen, which is accessible by stairs.   


About your tutor

Emma is a skilled, lifelong knitter who enjoys teaching others the basics of knitting and showing how much fun it is being creative with yarn and needles.
